Marc Eberlein, Republican Candidate for Kootenai County Commissioner District 1

Core Principles

God. Family. Country.

Marc embraces the principles of government held by the Founding Fathers of this nation. Those principles live within our Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States of America. Those same principles of governance are also found within the Idaho State Constitution. The Founders of this nation warned that for our constitutional republic to endure, two things are essential: Americans need to be ever vigilant and active in government; and, this form of government only functions with a moral and religious people.

Concerns

The purpose for having elected officials is to oversee governmental activities on behalf of the taxpayers. Threats to North Idaho’s conservative way of life are coming from all directions. The first point of defense is at the local level.

Liberal ideology and special interest groups are attempting to overturn the North Idaho lifestyle we so love. Government overreach is moving swiftly to compromise our basic American liberties. Tax burdens are sapping Idahoans on a daily basis. Parental rights, gun rights, healthcare freedom, and even life itself are at stake.

Experience Matters

Now is the time to make sure that conservative values are voiced when it really matters. With the experience that counts, and the trusted conservative leadership that he has proven, Marc is determined to make sure this happens. Eberlein gained a unique knowledge of taxpayer and local government needs and issues while serving four years as County Commissioner and member of the Board of Directors of Idaho Association of Counties. That firsthand experience is essential when debating issues that affect the burdens borne by taxpayers and our freedoms. The well-being of future generations depends upon what we do today.

While serving as Commissioner, Marc worked to uphold property rights and advocated against tax increases. He believes that honesty, common sense, practicality, the desire to listen and to hear, fairness, and the commitment to serve are qualities we all expect of our government officials. Those qualities are essential to earn the trust and confidence of the folks who government officials serve.

Family

Marc’s first ancestors to set foot in Idaho were early-day pioneers traveling the Oregon Trail in 1846. He was born and raised in the small town of Tonasket in eastern Washington. The country way of life is in his blood.
