I always found the following quote as a reminder to get involved. It is from the ancient Athenian statesman, Pericles:

“Just because you do not take an interest in politics doesn’t mean politics won’t take an interest in you. ”

 

Kootenai County has ten citizen advisory boards and they are open to the public. The County welcomes and encourages people to get involved. They cover such subjects as the CDA Airport, county fair, natural resources, historic preservation, community guardians, trail snowgrooming, noxious weed control, planning & zoning/land use, waterways maintenance/improvement, and aquifer protection.
